Summary

In your role as an Administrative Coordinator with the Registrar of Voters Office, you will help to administer Louisiana's voter registration laws by maintaining accurate voters rolls and support election operations. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Supplemental information

Job Duties:

  • Supervise, direct, train, and assist staff on the procedures of registering voters, entering address, name, and/or party changes, in compliance with the Louisiana Election Code and the National Voters Registration Act.
  • Supervise, direct, train, and assist staff in procedure for researching and/or issuing challenges in compliance with the Louisiana Election Code and the National Voters Registration Act.
  • Supervise, direct, train, and assist staff in the verification process of voter registration and the completion of certificates of residence forms.
  • Supervise, direct, train, and assist staff in completing a variety of forms for registered voters from other agencies as requred or requested.
  • Supervise, direct, train, and assist staff in the annual voter Canvass, in conjunction with the Louisiana Secretary of State, and in compliance with the Louisiana Election Code.
  • Supervise, direct, train, and assist staff in all Absentee Voting and Early Voting procedures, as well as serve as an Early Voting Site Manager.
  • Supervise, direct, and assist staff with daily and monthly reports.
  • Research, review, and be knowledgeable of the Louisiana Election laws.
  • Research and provide statistical information upon request of the Registrar or his/her designee
  • Participate in Voter Outreach Programs.

Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional for permanent employees.
Overtime Requirements: For every election cycle, the selected applicant must be available to work on the two Saturdays during early voting, extended daily hours during early voting and also the day of the election which is normally a Saturday. Overtime is required to support other election operations such as the canvass, recall petitions, etc.
