Seasonal Event Controller

Seasonal role - contract dates November December 2026 and early January 2027

About the Role

Are you ready to be the brain, the voice, and the ultimate source of truth for our spectacular festive event? We are looking for sharp, calm, and highly organised Event Controllers to run our central Event Control Room.

In this critical role, you are the operational nerve centre of the entire site. From the moment the gates open to the second the last guest leaves, you are the eye in the sky and the voice on the radio. You will coordinate communications across every department, from attractions and hospitality to technicians, performance captains, and security. By tracking visitor volumes, managing incident logs, and dispatching medical or security teams, you ensure the site remains safe, secure, and running like clockwork.

If you are a detail-oriented multitasker who thrives under pressure and loves being the calm centre of a fast-moving storm, we want you in the captain's chair!

Our Values: Do You Fit the Vibe?

  • Keep it real: We are authentic, transparent, and ego-free.
  • Go all in: We bring passion to everything we do, showing up with energy, creativity, and heart.
  • Make it happen: We take ownership, get things done, and deliver with accountability and pride.
  • Pivot like a pro: We adapt fast, stay flexible, and turn change into opportunity.
  • Good energy only: We choose positivity, support others, and lift those around us.

Main Responsibilities

Central Communications Hub

  • Radio Sign-On & Net Control: Manage the morning radio sign-on process, auditing and logging all active radio users across key departments (including Attractions TL, Hospitality TL, Technician TL, and Performance Show Captain).
  • Information & Support Desk: Act as the primary point of contact for all on-site radio traffic, answering requests for information, coordinate resources, and providing clear, accurate answers to the team.
  • Emergency Dispatch Liaison: Manage the dedicated security and first aid radio channels, coordinating swift response deployments and maintaining constant communication with responders on the ground.

Live Surveillance & Proactive Monitoring

  • CCTV Operations: Actively review site CCTV to identify and anticipate potential operational issues, crowd bottlenecks, or safety hazards before they escalate.
  • Visitor Volume Tracking: Monitor live gate figures and visitor entry speeds, providing regular updates to the Event Duty Manager to help them optimise staffing and queue management.
  • Proactive Warning Systems: Identify changing weather patterns, crowd surges, or operational delays, and communicate them immediately to the Event Duty Manager and Team Leaders.

Incident Management & Compliance

  • Incident Logging: Maintain a highly accurate, real-time digital incident log of all occurrences on site, tracking details from lost property to medical emergencies with strict precision.
  • Emergency Service Liaison: Act as the direct link to external emergency services (Police, Fire, Ambulance) if required, providing clear directions on emergency access routes and rendezvous points
  • Audit Trail & Reporting: Ensure all regulatory logs, shift handovers, and incident reports are fully completed, archived, and ready for senior management review at the end of each night.

Key Characteristics & Qualities Required

  • The Ultimate Multitasker: Able to listen to a radio transmission, look at a CCTV screen, log an incident, and answer a phone call simultaneously without breaking a sweat.
  • Calm Under Pressure: A rock-solid anchor for the team. You maintain a level head, a reassuring tone of voice, and absolute clarity during high-stress or emergency situations.
  • Exceptional Communicator: Possesses outstanding verbal and written communication skills. You are concise, direct, and professional over the airwaves.
  • Proactive & Analytical: You don't just react to radio calls; you actively look for anomalies, predict flow issues, and help the team "pivot like a pro" before problems arise.
  • Meticulously Organised: Highly disciplined when it comes to data entry, logging, and keeping paperwork compliant and legally robust.
  • Festive Spirit: While you are tucked away in the Control Room keeping everyone safe, your dedication ensures the Christmas magic continues to shine brightly and safely across the entire site.
