Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Utility Team Member for our lumber mill in Albany, GA. This individual-contributor position supports the safe and efficient operation of the facility by performing warehouse cleaning, grounds maintenance, and production-support duties. The Utility Team Member follows established safety, environmental, quality, and operating procedures and works cooperatively with team members to help maintain a clean, safe, and productive workplace.
Salary:
- Our starting pay is $20 per hour or more, depending on experience.
- You will have the ability to increase your compensation based on your skills and contribution to the overall performance of the mill.
Shift:
- 10-hour shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Some Saturday work depends on business needs.
What You Will Do
- Perform warehouse cleaning and grounds-maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.
- Follow all plant safety, environmental, quality, and operating guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas to support safe facility operations.
- Identify and report safety hazards, equipment concerns, product-quality issues, and production needs to the appropriate supervisor.
- Participate in safety activities and help maintain effective controls for workplace hazards.
- Operate mobile equipment safely and efficiently when trained and authorized.
- Assist with basic troubleshooting and production-support tasks as directed.
- Complete assigned inspections, documentation, data entry, and reports accurately and on time.
- Work cooperatively with team members and communicate relevant work conditions or concerns.
- Perform other utility, cleaning, grounds-maintenance, and production-support duties as assigned.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- One year of warehouse cleaning and grounds-maintenance experience.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or large-scale industrial cleanup activities.
- Experience operating mobile equipment safely and efficiently.
What Will Put You Ahead
- One or more years of experience in facility, building, or grounds maintenance, or similar work.
- Previous industrial experience in heavy industry.
