Applied AI Research Team Leader

As a Team Leader – Applied AI / Computer Vision, you will lead a team of AI researchers and engineers developing state-of-the-art deep learning solutions for complex computer vision challenges.

You will combine technical leadership, hands-on research, and people management, driving the team from research and experimentation through to production-ready solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Applied AI Researchers and Computer Vision engineers.
• Define the team's technical direction, research priorities, and roadmap.
• Lead the development of innovative computer vision algorithms from concept to production.
• Review academic research and drive the adoption of relevant state-of-the-art approaches.
• Guide dataset definition, experimentation, model development, and performance optimization.
• Solve complex technical challenges and provide hands-on technical leadership.
• Collaborate with Product and R&D teams to translate business needs into AI solutions.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in deep learning and computer vision R&D.
• Proven experience leading or mentoring technical teams.
• Strong expertise in Python, PyTorch, and Git.
• Strong research, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience taking AI algorithms from research to production.
• Familiarity with C++ and C# is an advantage.
• Capability to perform under a tight schedule while delivering solutions in an agile environment, maintaining clarity and visibility of the plan and progress.
