The Team:

This Lead Data Stewardship position will be an integral part of S&P Global’s Enterprise Data Organization's (EDO) Corporate Data Stewardship team. The primary objective of this team is to uphold the integrity, quality, governance, and compliance of Business Relationships, and Corporate Relationships. A critical aspect of this role involves fostering collaboration and communication with various stakeholders, including operations teams, product managers, and technology and data transformation teams, to gain insights into data requirements and challenges, as well as to identify enhancements to both data and processes.

The Impact:

As a member of the Data Stewardship Team, you will play a pivotal role in driving and managing key initiatives that support the EDO Data Strategy. You will play a vital role leading Business Relationships dataset and acting as subject matter expert of for the dataset. You will lead efforts to improve data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness through collaboration, innovation, and the execution of ad-hoc projects, with a focus on acquiring and collecting public and private data.

The role involves collaborating with various teams, including data operations, product, technology, legal, risk & compliance, support, and commercial partners, throughout the project lifecycle with specific to profiling dataset.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for datasets under Business Relationship domain such as Supply Chain, Products and Competitors datasets, overseeing project execution and providing guidance to team members to ensure successful project completion.
  • Expertise in the data collection processes, focusing on understanding workflows and collaborating with Tech and Ops teams to establish a robust duplicate identification system.
  • Oversee and assist in the development of a new collection tool designed for the creation and maintenance of company data.
  • Lead and manage content-driven projects from inception to completion, guaranteeing timely delivery, adherence to quality standards, and alignment with business goals.
  • Collaborate on technological capabilities and initiatives pertaining to profiling datasets, particularly through the utilization of SPARK Assist, Copilot, ASTRA and other AI agents as appropriate.
  • Manage the team to efficiently lead the projects and made accountable for the projects and tasks.
  • Identify and explore opportunities internally and assess third-party vendors data to enhance datasets and product offerings.
  • Conduct research and development to support strategic data ingestion and curation projects.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to facilitate the onboarding of Supply Chain dataset from both in-house sources and vendor data through different phases of Relationship Harmonization.
  • Collaborate with the product team to enhance front-end product offerings and commercialize data capabilities.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on data structures, content collection tools, and client interfaces such as MI, CIQ, Xpressfeed and other products.
  • Engage with clients, facilitated by Relationship Managers, to address research needs.
  • Ensure well-documented workflows, processes, and major releases with comprehensive training materials to support up-to-date knowledge repository.
  • Follow escalation protocols for major incidents and technology community issues.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders through various forums and strategy calls.
  • Support Operations in a consultative capacity for critical client cases and process improvements.
  • Demonstrating problem-solving capabilities at all levels.

What We Are Looking For:

Basic Qualifications & Technical Skills:

  • Decent knowledge of, or exposure to, databases such as Databricks, Snowflake and PostgreSQL. Proficient in SQL and Advanced Excel.
  • Ability to retrieve, interrogate, manipulate, and analyze data and present findings.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence tools for analyzing datasets and visualizing data. Hands on experience Power BI dashboards and Agentic AI solutions for automation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with familiarity in relational database concepts.
  • Basic knowledge on Company Harmonization eco-system is advantageous.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies is advantageous.
  • Strong project management skills, capable of handling multiple projects to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of platforms and systems like MI Platform, CIQ Platform, XF and MI/CIQ Doc repository.

  • Advanced troubleshooting and multitasking skills, with a meticulous eye for detail.
  • Interest in technology used to visualize, interrogate, and report data.
  • A strong track record and demonstrable interest in analyzing data.
  • Knowledge of, or interest in, datasets under the reference data domain is desirable.

  • Ensure alignment with governance and compliance standards.
