We are seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented People and Culture Officer

to join our Group People and Culture team. The successful candidate will support the delivery of People and Culture services by coordinating HR transactions, maintaining employee records, responding to staff requests, tracking service activities and supporting HR projects and initiatives. The role requires a high level of confidentiality, accuracy and responsiveness in delivering quality HR services to the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

People and Culture Services

  • Coordinate assigned People and Culture activities and transactions in accordance with established processes and service standards.
  • Develop and maintain tracking systems for HR transactions and activities.
  • Process staff movement requests, HR service requests, reports and document requests within agreed deadlines and service level agreements.
  • Prepare and maintain daily, weekly and monthly activity and transaction reports.
  • Monitor service requests and follow up on outstanding items to ensure timely completion.

Employee Services & Communication

  • Provide warm, professional and confidential service to employees and respond to HR-related requests in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Respond to telephone calls, emails and other communications in accordance with established protocols.
  • Coordinate with HR colleagues to ensure employee requests and transactions are appropriately addressed.
  • Communicate actions taken, provide updates and follow through on assigned requests to confirm completion and employee satisfaction.

Records Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records across electronic and physical files and relevant HR systems.
  • Process and record changes relating to employee status, benefits, payments, loans, training and education.
  • Ensure consistency and integrity between employee data systems, electronic records and physical files.
  • Maintain records in accordance with established HR policies, procedures and records management practices.

Projects & HR Initiatives

  • Participate in assigned People and Culture projects and initiatives.
  • Support project planning and execution, including the development of action plans and completion of assigned deliverables.
  • Monitor and report on the status of assigned project activities and ensure compliance with established project standards and timelines.

Policy & Professional Development

  • Keep abreast of changes to organisational policies, legislation, regulations, products, services and reporting requirements relevant to assigned responsibilities.
  • Maintain knowledge of policies applicable to the assigned portfolio and ensure compliance with relevant HR requirements.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and effectiveness in the role.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • B.Sc. degree with three (3) or more years of relevant experience; OR
  • M.Sc. degree with over two (2) years of relevant experience.
  • Training in Human Resource Management or a related discipline.
  • Experience in HR service delivery, employee records management, HR administration or a related area would be an asset.
