Senior Radiographer

Key Job Responsibilities

• Assist with guest intake and preparation for imaging procedures, including obtaining medical histories and educating about their imaging procedures.
• Position guests and equipment accurately to capture the required anatomical area and produce clear, high-quality images.
• Operate radiology equipment safely and effectively, calibrating settings to obtain optimal images as specified by the referring physician.
• Monitor guests through imaging procedures to ensure their comfort, safety, and wellbeing.
• Adhere to radiation safety, infection control, and sterilization protocols always.
• Log, organize, and process image results, and assist radiologists with the interpretation of radiographic findings.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date guest and imaging records.
• Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and storage of equipment; perform basic maintenance and promptly report any equipment faults.
• Coordinate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare staff to schedule and complete radiographic procedures efficiently.
• Mentor and support junior radiographers, sharing best practices and supporting their professional development.
• Maintain current knowledge of radiology practices, technologies, and regulatory requirements through ongoing professional development.

Candidate Profile

• Diploma or Degree in Radiography or Medical Imaging.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in radiography or medical imaging.
• Prior experience in mentoring junior staff or leading a team is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Sinhala and/or Tamil will be an added advantage.
• In-depth knowledge of radiology equipment, imaging techniques, and radiation safety.
• Courteous, guest-focused and professional approach with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to guide and mentor junior staff.
• Good computer skills and familiarity with medical imaging software.
• Ability to work independently and lead within a multidisciplinary team.
