Together with the Head of Treasury, the Treasurer plays a key role in the management of the Bank’s balance sheet, liquidity profile and general treasury activities. The role is responsible for ensuring sound liquidity and funding management, effective position steering, interest rate risk oversight and compliance with regulatory requirements.
The Treasurer combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and acts as a trusted advisor to senior management, Front Office and key stakeholders across the Bank. The role supports the development and implementation of treasury initiatives that contribute to the Bank’s financial resilience, regulatory compliance and profitability, while ensuring alignment with Group Treasury frameworks and governance standards.
Close collaboration with Front Office, Risk Management, Finance, Operations and Group Treasury functions are essential. The Treasurer promotes a strong control culture and contributes to effective treasury governance through active participation in asset and liability management (ALM), perform regulatory changes and treasury-related projects.

YOUR CHALLENGE

Treasury Management

  • Support the Bank’s asset and liability management (ALM), including liquidity, funding, interest rate risk and balance sheet optimisation.
  • Monitor and manage foreign exchange exposures, minimum reserve requirements and the deposit facility with the Banque Centrale du Luxembourg (BCL).
  • Oversee the Bank’s bond investment portfolio, Nostro accounts and collateral positions within approved mandates and risk limits.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to enhance profitability, funding efficiency and balance sheet utilisation.
  • Provide treasury expertise to senior management and represent Treasury in relevant committees, projects and stakeholder discussions.

Treasury Governance & Regulatory Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Group Treasury policies, governance standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and coordinate the implementation of related changes.
  • Maintain and enhance Treasury policies, procedures and workflows in collaboration with Group Treasury.
  • Support audits, regulatory reviews and supervisory interactions.
  • Prepare and present treasury analyses, reports and decision papers for the Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO).

Business & Stakeholder Support

  • Advise Relationship Managers and business stakeholders on liquidity, funding and money market topics.
  • Develop treasury solutions that support business growth, client needs and treasury-related opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Risk & Control

  • Monitor liquidity, interest rate and market risk exposures within approved risk limits.
  • Identify, assess and escalate treasury-related risks as appropriate.
  • Continuously improve treasury processes, controls and reporting to maintain a robust control environment

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Treasury, ALM, Liquidity Management, Risk Management or Financial Markets within the financial industry.
  • Sound knowledge of liquidity management, funding, balance sheet management, treasury operations and IRRBB.
  • Good understanding of regulatory requirements, including LCR, NSFR and central bank regulations.
  • Experience in an international and regulated banking environment.
  • Familiarity with treasury and banking systems, ideally Temenos T24.
  • Experience with Bloomberg, LSEG or similar market data platforms.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on, pragmatic approach.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a dynamic environment.
  • Resilience and composure under pressure.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability and integrity.
  • Solution-oriented with effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence across functions and organisational levels.
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages are an advantage.
