Financial Accountant

As our Luxembourg office continues to expand, we are seeking a Financial Accountant to support both our law firm and corporate services operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with experience gained in professional services or an accounting firm who is keen to broaden their expertise across a diverse range of financial activities.

Working closely with the Finance Manager in Luxembourg and the Group Finance team in Jersey, you will play a key role in the day-to-day financial management of the business. Your responsibilities will span general accounting, treasury management, financial reporting and budget monitoring, giving you exposure to a varied and interesting workload in a fast-paced professional services environment.

About the role

In this role, you'll:

• Process and monitor day-to-day accounting transactions.

• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes.

• Prepare account reconciliations and support the posting and review of closing entries.

• Contribute to the preparation of annual statutory financial statements.

• Assist with the preparation of tax and regulatory filings.

• Support the day-to-day monitoring of cash flow and banking activities.

• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor payments.

• Contribute to the preparation of financial reports and management information.

• Participate in the ongoing improvement of accounting and finance processes.

• Assist in maintaining and updating financial procedures and internal controls.

• Support projects aimed at optimising and automating financial systems and reporting tools.

• Work closely with the Group Finance team and other departments across the business.

• Assist in liaising with auditors, banks, tax authorities, insurance providers and suppliers.

About you – Essential Requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• 3 to 5 years' accounting experience gained within industry and/or an accounting firm.
• Solid knowledge of Luxembourg GAAP and financial close processes.
• Understanding of tax compliance requirements and financial reporting principles.
• Advanced Excel skills are essential.
• Experience with accounting ERP systems would be an advantage.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within international teams.
• Solid organisational skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work within agreed deadlines.
• Proven ability to proactively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to obtain information, resolve queries and ensure timely completion of finance processes.
• Professional working proficiency in English and French is required.
