Job vacancy: Credit Manager- Specialised Lending

Your responsibility as Credit Manager will be to provide expert credit management analysis, recommendations, and solutions for specialised lending activities to support sound decision-making, ensure adherence to regulatory and policy requirements, and protect the organisation’s financial position.

In this role you will,

  • Evaluate complex specialised lending applications, including structured and corporate lending transactions, to determine creditworthiness and enable well-informed approval decisions aligned with policies;
  • Analyse and quantify exposures across customer, transaction, and market dimensions to assess alignment with risk appetite and support robust credit management decisions;
  • Formulate and present recommendations or take decisions on credit facilities within delegated authority to safeguard the organisation’s financial interests and maintain portfolio integrity;
  • Contribute to the structuring of specialised lending solutions to identify potential issues early and ensure balanced, sustainable outcomes;
  • Ensure compliance with credit management frameworks, regulatory guidelines, and internal controls by reviewing activities and addressing any identified gaps or non-compliance;
  • Develop and deliver analytical insights and reports on specialised lending portfolios to support transparency, proactive monitoring, and decision-making by senior stakeholders;
  • Provide expert guidance and technical support to stakeholders involved in the lending process to ensure consistency and quality in credit assessment and decision-making;
  • Solve complex credit-related issues by analysing multiple data points and identifying optimal solutions to enhance decision quality and operational effectiveness;
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of credit management practices, tools, and frameworks to improve efficiency, governance, and consistency across operations;
  • Develop contingency plans and mitigation actions for identified exposures or stressed situations to minimise potential losses and strengthen resilience;
  • Engage with key stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate credit decisions effectively to facilitate efficient execution of lending activities;
  • Maintain deep expertise in specialised lending, regulatory developments, and market trends to ensure relevance, credibility, and continuous enhancement of credit management practices.

We are looking for candidates who have a minimum of:

  • A completed degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking or any related field;
  • At least 6 years’ experience in Corporate Banking with exposure in structured project and trade finance;

You will have to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of Accounting Principles and Practice;
  • Knowledge of Financial Analysis techniques;
  • Knowledge of MS Office Tools;
  • Knowledge of Banking Regulatory & Framework, Banking Act 2004;
  • Knowledge of Trade Finance;
  • Knowledge of Project Finance.

A combination of both qualifications & experience will be considered.
