Cash Analyst

Location: Mexico City

Role Summary As a Cash Analyst within Colgate-Palmolive’s Credit-to-Cash (C2C) team, you will execute core Accounts Receivable (AR) operations that ensure customer payments are accurately matched, applied, and reconciled from initial retrieval to general ledger posting. In this role, you will safeguard internal controls, enforce credit policies, and resolve payment exceptions to optimize cash flow and working capital. You will serve as a key operational link across internal finance teams, utilizing data analysis to drive continuous process improvements and support automated AR workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily end-to-end cash application by validating, matching, and posting incoming payments across customer sub-ledgers into the general ledger.
  • Investigate unapplied or misapplied payments by collaborating with customer Accounts Payable teams and banking partners to secure remittance details.
  • Identify short payments, pricing variances, and unearned discounts, cleanly segregating valid claims to hand off to Deductions Analysts with full traceability.
  • Support month-end close activities, maintain credit approval documentation, and monitor portfolio health metrics (DSO and aging over 60/90 days) to safeguard bad debt reserves.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to standardize C2C processes, supporting the rollout of AI cash-matching and automated AR tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Cash Application, or administrative finance roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data sorting, formatting, and basic formulas (e.g., VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with enterprise ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and customer accounting portals.
  • Familiarity with automated cash-application systems, RPA tools, or digital process transformation.
  • Strong attention to detail, proactive problem-solving skills, and effective cross-functional communication abilities.
