For one of our key clients, a leading international energy company, we are currently looking for an experienced Marine Expert to support offshore and marine operations in Nigeria.

The position will involve close coordination with Drilling, Marine, Projects, Production and HSE teams in a demanding offshore environment.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Marine Expert to support offshore marine operations in Onne, Nigeria.

Key responsibilities include:

• Act as COMPANY Marine Representative for rig and barge moves.
• Support Call for Tender, technical evaluations and selection of marine contractors and vessels.
• Review and approve anchor patterns, anchoring procedures and marine operations.
• Provide marine expertise to Drilling, Projects and Production teams.
• Act as the affiliate DP Authority and perform Dynamic Positioning (DP) audits.
• Support and monitor AHTS, rig moving and contractor marine operations.
• Perform regular inspections of boat landings and monitor fast crew boat activities.
• Participate in Marine Risk Assessments, Emergency Plans and Cause Tree Analysis (CTA).
• Conduct contractor audits and follow up corrective actions.
• Ensure full compliance with COMPANY HSE standards and actively promote offshore safety.

Qualifications

• Marine Engineer or Bachelor in Nautical Studies.
• Valid Master Certificate for seagoing vessels or Unlimited Chief Engineer Licence.
• Proven experience as a Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS).
• Valid OVID certification.
• Strong experience in Rig Operations / Rig Moving / OIM activities.
• Strong expertise across the following areas: Drilling, AHTS, MWS and Dynamic Positioning (DP).
• Experience in marine logistics and personnel transportation planning.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Strong HSE awareness, communication and coordination skills.

Additional Information

Location: Onne, Nigeria
Rotation: 4 weeks ON / 4 weeks OFF – 7 days per week
Eligibility: Position open to Nigerian nationals only

The position reports to the Onne Site Manager for site-related activities and to the Marine Manager for all marine-related matters
