Main responsibilities:
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Service Engineer – Mechanical to join our team. The position will be based in Lagos, Nigeria.
General Purpose of the Role:
As a Service Engineer – Mechanical, you will provide technical field services to ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of Wärtsilä equipment. Your expertise will help us deliver high-quality workmanship ensure to maintain service delivery standards, support business growth, ensure timely project execution, and meet customer expectations
Key Accountabilities
- Performs technical tasks and troubleshooting in the field, contributing to the functionality of equipment and diagnosing and resolving technical issues in collaboration with the service team and customers.
- Provides technical support and guidance to customers, enhancing their experience and ensuring the reliability of products in operation.
- Collaborates across multiple customers, external stakeholders and cross-functional teams to coordinate on-site activities and share expertise, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery and contributing to service delivery excellence.
- Participates in the continuous development of field service processes and methods by providing feedback on service processes and equipment performance, aiming for increased efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Maintains accurate records and reports of field service activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and customer requirements. Adheres to safety and quality standards.
Required educational qualification:
- HND/BSC (Mechanical) with 5-8 years of experience
- Working experience in any Gas engines (Must have)
- Willingness to travel extensively (Must have)
- PMP Certification (Good to have)
- Safety Certification like OSHA/NEBOSH (Good to have)
- Practical knowledge of field service operations and technical expertise in relevant equipment and systems.
- Identification and implementation of improvements to service processes based on operational performance and customer feedback.
- Working independently and providing support to peers, contributing to the team's overall service delivery.
- Communicating effectively with customers and team members to resolve service issues and meet operational requirements.
