About the role | Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga
We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientists to join our core lab team in Rotorua, taking part in a 24/7 roster, working 80 hours per fortnight.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct a variety of laboratory tests and analyses on biological samples to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results by adhering to established protocols and quality control measures.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret test results and provide insights for patient management.
- Document and report findings in compliance with regulatory standards and organisational policies.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Train and mentor junior laboratory staff and students as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science.
- Current registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in laboratory information systems and data management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
