Are you a trade-qualified mechanic who enjoys being hands-on while leading a team? Do you have the technical know-how to solve complex problems and the leadership skills to keep a workshop running safely, efficiently, and at its best?

At Travvia, the people behind JUCY and Star RV, we’re looking for a Mechanic Foreman to lead our Christchurch workshop team. You’ll play a key role in keeping our fleet safe, reliable and adventure-ready, while supporting and developing a high-performing team.

What You’ll Do

Lead the Workshop TeamCoordinate daily workflow, allocate jobs, coach and mentor mechanics, and create a positive culture where safety, quality and teamwork come first.

Keep the Fleet Adventure-ReadyGet hands-on with servicing, diagnostics, repairs and maintenance across our fleet of campervans, motorhomes and rental vehicles. Oversee repair quality and help minimise vehicle downtime.

Drive Workshop PerformanceWork closely with Fleet and Operations to maximise vehicle availability, manage priorities and keep the workshop running efficiently.

Improve How We WorkIdentify recurring issues, solve problems and look for practical ways to improve workshop efficiency, fleet reliability and customer experience.

Lead on SafetyChampion safe working practices and ensure workshop standards, compliance and roadworthy requirements are consistently met.

What You’ll Bring

You’re an experienced Automotive Mechanic who enjoys combining technical expertise with people leadership. You’re confident making decisions, solving problems and supporting others, while still being happy to get on the tools when needed.

You’ll bring:

• Recognised Automotive Trade Qualification.
• Experience in a senior mechanic, lead mechanic or foreman role.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across petrol and diesel vehicles.
• Proven leadership, coaching and communication skills.
• Ability to plan, prioritise and coordinate workshop activity.
• Strong commitment to Health & Safety and quality workmanship.
• Full New Zealand Driver Licence.
