Seasonal Weed Eater Operator

Seasonal 3-month opportunity from October - end of December 2026 with a possibility to extend!

Do you have a great work ethic, enjoy getting stuck in, and hold a full driver’s licence?

This role will be based out of the Frankton depot however the role will take place across the Wanaka, Queenstown District. The job will be primarily weed eating alongside a mower operator.

If so, this is the perfect short-term position for you! We're looking for an energetic individual to help keep Wanaka's parks and reserves in top condition by taking on important vegetation control tasks.

What's does a Weed Eater Operator do you ask?

As a Weed Eater Operator, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the Mowing team by helping to keep vegetation under control during the busy growing season. You’ll focus on weed-eating and edging, ensuring our parks look their best, and occasionally join the wider crew to assist with other tasks across our green spaces.

Who we are looking for

We’re on the lookout for people with a strong desire to do a job well. Experience using small plant equipment is a bonus, but if you’re eager to learn, that’s good enough for us! You’ll also need:

• A full driver’s licence (manual driving experience required)
• Energy, self-motivation, and a can-do attitude
• Good physical fitness – this is a hands-on, physically demanding role
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
