Syos Aerospace Limited is a New Zealand aerospace company delivering complex engineering and R&D-led projects. As the business grows, we're looking for an Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team and help keep our supplier and project spend accurate and on time.

Role Purpose

The Accounts Payable Officer is responsible for the accurate, timely processing of supplier invoices and payments for Syos Aerospace Limited. This is a hands-on, transactional role supporting the finance team, and reports to the Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices accurately and code them to the correct GL accounts, cost centres and projects
• Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery/goods receipts, and resolve discrepancies with suppliers and internal teams
• Prepare and run weekly payment batches, ensuring payments go out accurately and on time
• Respond to supplier queries and maintain positive supplier relationships
• Reconcile supplier statements to the accounts payable ledger monthly
• Maintain accurate supplier master data, including bank details and payment terms
• Support month-end close, including accruals for unprocessed invoices and AP reporting
• Assist with employee expense claims and credit card reconciliations
• Help maintain AP filing, documentation and audit trails in line with company policy
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and controls

What We're Looking For

• 1-3 years' experience in an accounts payable or transactional finance role
• Working knowledge of accounting/ERP software (e.g. Xero) and confident with Excel
• High accuracy and attention to detail, especially when coding invoices and processing payments
• Good communication skills for dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Able to prioritise and meet regular processing and payment-run deadlines
• A proactive, team-oriented approach and willingness to learn
• Study towards an accounting qualification (e.g. NZICA/CAANZ) is a plus but not required
