Assistant Manager Design and Illustration

About the Role:

The incumbent will play an active, execution-focused role in developing high-quality educational books and publishing materials across print and digital formats. This position combines direct creative production with day-to-day project coordination, ensuring exceptional visual storytelling, brand consistency, and engaging content that meets rigorous publishing standards.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Hands-on Creative Execution: Directly design and produce book layouts, cover artwork, and digital assets while actively creating and standardizing illustrations across various titles.
  • Production & Workflow Coordination: Assist in managing day-to-day design pipelines, tracking schedules, and ensuring all deliverables transition smoothly from concept to print-ready and digital formats.
  • Quality & Brand Consistency: Maintain meticulous attention to typography, vector precision, color integrity, and prepress standards across all published deliverables.
  • Design Trends & Experimentation: Explore modern layout techniques, evolving illustration styles, and digital creative tools to keep product aesthetics fresh and engaging.

About You

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia Arts, Visual Communication, or a related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on professional design and illustration experience, ideally within educational publishing, editorial design, or creative media.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) with a strong portfolio showcasing book layout, typography, and vector artwork.
  • Solid understanding of prepress workflows, print production specifications, and digital asset preparation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple project deadlines independently while collaborating effectively in a team setting.
