Overview:
The Chief Medical Director will provide medical and clinical oversight for the Intercambios Health Center and all Intercambios Puerto Rico medical services, with a commitment to the provision of quality medical services that are both responsive to patient and community needs, as well as cost-effective.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the provision of high-quality medical care at Intercambios Puerto Rico and Intercambios Health Center.
- Ensure access to the constituent community by ensuring the availability of providers and scheduling capacity.
- Ensure that health care services are cost-effective.
- Draft and implement policies that are responsive to client needs and that adhere to requirements of funding sources and third-party payers.
- Provide quality, direct medical care to Health Center clients.
- Assist the Clinical Director in his/her role as liaison to the surrounding medical community.
- Function as the primary medical liaison between the Health Center and the CEO/Executive Director and Clinical Director.
- Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Health Center’s Quality Assurance & Quality Improvement activities, including development and annual revision of the Quality Management Plan.
- Hire and terminate staff, as necessary, in conjunction with the Executive Director and Clinical Director.
- Oversee personnel issues within the Health Center, as appropriate.
- Participate in strategic planning. Lead and attend site meetings, as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Must be a Board-Certified Physician with at least five years of post-certification practice experience.
- Must be committed to community health and the mission of community health centers.
