Work Package Owner

Validation & Engineering Group, Inc. (V&EG) a Pinnaql company is a leading services supplier who provides solutions for the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Chemical, Food, and Medical Devices industries in the following areas: Laboratory, Compliance, Computer, Engineering, Project Management, Validation, and other services.

We are seeking a talented, dedicated individual committed to work under the highest ethics standards for the following position:

  • Work Package Owner (WPO)

Description:

The Work Package Owner (WPO) serves as the Owner's field representative for an assigned Base Work Package and is accountable for ensuring the package remains aligned with project objectives for safety, quality, schedule, cost, readiness, and turnover.

The WPO does not direct contractor means, methods, sequencing, workforce management, or day-to-day construction activities. Instead, the WPO provides Owner oversight, monitors performance, facilitates resolution of issues, removes Owner-related constraints, coordinates interfaces, and ensures timely decision-making necessary to support successful execution.

The WPO serves as the primary point of integration between the Owner team, EPCM/Construction Management team, Design team, CQV organization, Owner equipment suppliers, and the executing contractors.

For work packages involving Owner-furnished equipment, specialty vendor systems, or Owner-managed scope, the WPO is responsible for coordinating and driving Owner deliverables necessary to support construction, startup, and turnover objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical), Construction Management, Architecture, or related technical discipline.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 8 years’ total construction/project experience with at least 4 years in owner/client-side roles (construction management, owner’s representative, or WPO-type role).
  • Industry experience:
    • Minimum 3 years working on large-scale pharmaceutical, biotech, or other GxP-regulated facility projects preferred (if posting outside regulated industries, change to “large industrial projects”).
  • Technical knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of construction means/methods, construction sequencing, subcontractor scopes, and typical trade interfaces.
  • Project controls:
    • Practical experience with schedule management, cost tracking, and change-control processes.
  • Quality & compliance:
    • Knowledge of quality systems, commissioning/qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) concepts, CQV deliverables, and turnover requirements.
  • Communication:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams (Owner, EPCM/CM, design, CQV, vendors, contractors).
  • Decision-making:
    • Demonstrated ability to escalate and drive timely decisions to remove constraints.
  • Availability:
    • Full-time onsite with flexibility for ~50 hours/week and limited travel as required.
  • Certifications:
    • OSHA 30 (or equivalent) and basic construction safety training.
  • Authorization:
    • Must be legally authorized to work in job location.
