Position Title: Agronomist

Location: Gaza Strip.

Report to: Project Manager

Project duration: 6 months with a high possibility of extension.

Job Summary

MA’AN is currently implementing many projects that aim to

restore agricultural Livelihoods and strengthen local food systems in the Gaza Strip. MA’ANis seeking a competent and qualified Agronomist to provide technical support, field supervision, quality assurance, and monitoring of agricultural activities, including land rehabilitation, establishment of home gardens, and installation of water supply/carrier lines.

The main duties include:

  1. Support the identification of beneficiaries through field assessments and technical evaluations.
  2. Provide technical assistance, develop technical documents, and ensure quality oversight .
  3. Monitor and supervise the implementation of agricultural activities in the field, ensuring compliance with the technical specifications, BoQs, quality standards, workplans, and project requirements.
  4. Participate in the design, preparation, and delivery of technical training sessions and awareness activities for targeted farmers.
  5. Provide technical assistance, on-site coaching, and practical guidance to targeted farmers on relevant agricultural practices.
  6. Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress, identify technical challenges and implementation gaps, and propose practical solutions in coordination with the Project Manager.
  7. Prepare technical, field monitoring, and progress reports, as well as other documentation required by the Project Manager.
  8. Coordinate, as required, with relevant project staff, local stakeholders, suppliers, contractors, and farmers to facilitate the smooth implementation of project activities.

Requirements

Qualifications:

1-

Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Plant Science, or a related field.

2- Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in agricultural projects in the Gaza Strip, preferably with NGOs, development, humanitarian, livelihood, or food security programs.

3- Demonstrated experience in field supervision, monitoring of agricultural works, quality control, and direct engagement with farmers.

4- Good understanding of agricultural recovery, resilience, and livelihood programming.

Strong ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, prioritize workload, and multitask.

6-

Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS/Project, Word, and Excel.

Good reporting skills.

9-

Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and under pressure.

10-

Advanced computer literacy.
