JOB CONTEXT:

Handicap International – Humanity & Inclusion (HI) initiated its operations in Sudan in early 2024, in Gedaref State, initially providing technical, financial and operational support to a national NGO, with activities managed remotely due to access constraints. Following HI’s registration with the Sudanese authorities in December 2024, the organisation progressively expanded its operational footprint. In January 2025, HI opened a base in West Darfur (El Geneina) and began direct implementation, including hygiene kit distributions for households with malnourished children, cash-based food assistance, and the strengthening of inclusive humanitarian approaches. In October 2025, HI opened an office and the launch of direct activities in Al Jazirah State, with a focus on physical rehabilitation (including stimulation therapy for children under five) and Inclusive Humanitarian Action, implemented in consortium with humanitarian partners. In January 2026, in light of the emergency in North Darfur, HI opened an office in Tawila to deploy Atlas Logistique teams, which are responsible for providing storage and transport services for humanitarian actors. An Emergency Medical team is also working alongside MSF Hospital to provide post-surgical rehabilitation care.

Handicap International / Atlas Logistique provides logistics services to humanitarian actors, including storage and transport solutions. When medical, pharmaceutical, nutritional or temperature-sensitive products are handled, dedicated pharmaceutical expertise is required to ensure their integrity, traceability, storage under appropriate conditions, and compliance of operations with regulatory requirements and Good Storage and Distribution Practices.

The recruitment of this role comes at a phase of operational expansion for the AL project in Darfur.

This will therefore imply a larger portfolio and a need to move from one area to the other.

YOUR MISSION:

Reporting to the Atlas Operations Manager, the Pharmacist is the field technical focal point for Medical Logistics. He ensures the pharmaceutical compliance of Atlas services covering the receipt, storage, stock management, distribution and transport of medical products. He implements and monitor the quality assurance system, temperature-controlled and cold-chain activities, provides the necessary technical recommendations to operational teams and partners, and contributes to reporting, capacity building, coordination and continuous improvement of activities.

The mains responsibilities will be :

•   Review of partner requests and regulatory compliance
  

•   Receipt and distribution of medical products
  

•   Storage, stock management and traceability
  

•   Quality assurance, self-inspections and non-conformities
  

•   Cold-chain and equipment management
  

•   Transport of medical products
  

•   Staff, training and capacity building
  

•   Reporting, communication and representation
  

•   Strategy, assessments and continuous improvement
  

Requirements

· You have a Pharmacist degree; specialization in humanitarian medical logistics is desirable

· You have minimum three years of experience in the humanitarian sector (NGO/UN), with experience in the storage and/or distribution of medical products and cold chain.

· You have an excellent knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, Good Distribution and Storage Practices

· You are able to work under pressure and in a context of ongoing insecurity.

· You show patience and creativeness and are a good team player
