Organizational area & location:
- Assignment via Full Time contract within the Complete Seat BG, Adient’s biggest unit in Europe
- Reporting directly to Sr. Fin. Manager FP&A, Complete Seat BG
- Working closely with entire Operations Finance Team of Complete Seat BG: particularly plant controlling and operations controlling
- Secondary dotted line reporting to Central FP&A Team Europe
- Based in Bratislava (hybrid work model)
What will your responsibilities be?
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect, consolidate and analyze various financial information in MS Excel, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and PPT from approximately 22 different production plants across Europe.Requires ability to work with large datasets related to P&L performance, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow to identify trends, opportunities, and potential problems
- Variance Analysis & Reporting: Analyze and explain variances between Actual financial results and the Profit Plan/Forecast (e.g. performance vs. prior year; performance vs Outlook). This includes preparation of financial reports and consolidated P&L bridges in Excel and presentations in PPT during the month-end close process, outlook and profit plan
- Purchasing Finance: support the end-to-end processing of Purchasing Finance Data (rebates, savings, material economics, etc.) by extracting data from core databases to build the Monthly Outlook and the Annual Profit Plan. Audit the integrity of the data and collaborate with buyers from the purchasing organization to validate forecasting assumptions
- Forecasting & Planning: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, monthly forecasts and long-term business plans: set up timelines and deadlines, prepare financial templates for the plants in Excel that are linked to the HFM reporting system. Furthermore, set up appropriate and automated consolidation tools. Also requires collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g. Commercial Finance – AFM’s, Purchasing Finance, Operations Finance and central FP&A)
- Decision Support: Provide financial analysis (e.g. run-rate analysis) and scenario modeling (e.g. volume and utilization impact vs. fix and variable cost flexing) that support strategic business decisions. Support on various ad-hoc activities based on changing business needs
- Process Improvement & Strategy: Identify and implement improvements and automatization of financial reporting and analysis tools on all aspects of Month-End and Planning for FP&A and for the plants. This requires aptitude and interest to develop and enhance tools that use Visual Basic (Macro-Programming in Excel) and Power BI or similar
- Communication: Serve as the initial point of contact for the 22 production plants as it relates to FP&A activities and deliverables during Month-End and Planning. This also includes troubleshooting and resolving reporting or system issues that may occur. Furthermore, the Sr. FP&A analyst will be communicating and coordinating Group requirements with the production plants on a monthly basis
Which qualifications are we looking for in potential employees?
- Finance, Accounting or Economic academic background preferred (or at least a major interest in these fields of studies)
- Strong quantitative and analytical competency, working and analyzing financial data
- Extensive experience with MS Office, in particular with Excel recommended (ability to create, implement, and troubleshoot complex formulas and functions).
- First experience working with Visual basic (programming of Excel Macros) not mandatory but helpful to automate and develop new solutions
- Fluency in English is a key aspect of the role due to its international exposure
- Excellent mindset, communication and organizational ability
- Strong understanding of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
