Head, Liability Products

Job Summary

• As Head of Liability Products, he/she is responsible for leading the Retail Banking's deposit products, transaction capabilities and payment services strategy. This role drives deposit growth, payment revenue, liquidity, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance and product profitability across the retail segments.
• The overall scope of work under the purview of this role encompasses savings and current accounts, fixed deposits, payment rails, transfers, merchant payments, digital wallets and potential partnership with payment network and fintechs.
• Main responsibilities will cover strategy and business leadership, product management, deposit growth and portfolio management. Drive sustainable growth and business efficiency delivered through effective sale & marketing campaigns & management, digital transformation and business partnership and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Apart from business and customer growth, the role will also require the individual to spearhead, promote and develop strong compliance culture over risk, regulatory and governance.
• Own the business profit & loss for deposits and payments solution (where applicable). This will include strategy papers, management reports and strategic business reviews and meeting management KPIs.

Requirements

• Degree and relevant certifications and accreditations in domain areas of expertise and industry regulations.
• At least 8 to 10 years in relevant areas with senior leadership experience managing teams and P&L responsibility.
• Strong experience in deposits, payments transaction banking, digital banking and product management.
• Strong in stakeholder management, working closely with Sales, Treasury, branch and digital channels, operations, IT, risk and compliance.
• Strong team leadership and able to lead and mentor product, payment and business management teams. Ability to create a high-performance and innovation-driven culture is critical to success in this role.
• Strong communication and change management skills. Able to present business performance and articulate key initiative, projects and issues to executive leadership committees.
• Preferably with cross experience in different organizations in different capacities and roles and having strong technical knowledge including deep understanding of products, regulations and concepts and network connectivity with digital operating platforms as well as the financial ecosystems.
• Proven track record with excellent business achievement in deposit balance growth, healthy CASA ratio, payment transaction growth and fee income generation, digital adoption rates and quick time-to-market for new products and services related to deposits and payments.
