Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Deputy CE of REEV Powertrain Engineering
to lead the development, integration, testing, and U.S. certification of Range-Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) powertrain systems.
The role requires strong expertise in gasoline engine and powertrain development
, combined with proven hands-on experience in HEV/PHEV/EREV/REEV technologies
and a strong track record of U.S. vehicle homologation and regulatory compliance
, particularly EPA/CARB emissions certification, OBD, and testing
.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and integration of REEV powertrain systems
, including range extender engine, engine control, calibration, emissions, after-treatment, thermal management, NVH, and related systems.
Drive engine/REEV system integration
, ensuring performance, efficiency, reliability, emissions, drivability, and overall vehicle targets are achieved.
Lead and resolve complex technical issues across powertrain, vehicle, software, controls, testing, and validation
, working closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
Take technical ownership of U.S. regulatory compliance and vehicle certification
, including EPA/CARB emissions certification, OBD requirements, testing, documentation, and regulatory engagement
.
Lead powertrain development activities from concept and engineering development through validation, certification, SOP, and U.S. market launch
.
Establish technical strategies, development plans, validation approaches, and engineering standards for REEV powertrain programs.
Provide technical leadership to engineering teams and suppliers, driving quality, timing, cost, and technical performance
.
Support senior management in technical decision-making, risk identification, issue escalation, and resolution of critical powertrain development topics.
Requirements
Mandatory:
Proven experience developing and successfully homologating/certifying vehicles for the U.S. market
, with direct involvement in EPA/CARB emissions certification, testing, OBD, and regulatory compliance
.
Minimum 12 years of experience
in gasoline engine / automotive powertrain development, including 5+ years in a technical leadership role
.
Mandatory hands-on experience with HEV/PHEV/EREV/REEV
, preferably direct Range Extender
development and integration.
Strong expertise in gasoline engine, engine control & calibration, emissions, after-treatment, NVH, thermal management, testing and validation
.
Proven ability to lead engine/REEV system integration
and resolve complex technical issues with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
Preferred: Experience taking a vehicle through the complete process of development → U.S. certification → SOP → U.S. market launch
