The RAMS Manager is a senior engineering leader responsible for ensuring the delivery of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) activities across complex rail infrastructure projects. Working closely with project teams, clients, independent assessors and safety authorities, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with international standards and achieving safe, reliable system outcomes.

You will:

  • Lead and coordinate project-specific RAMS and safety assurance activities across rail systems projects.
  • Manage interfaces with Independent Safety Assessors, client representatives, consultants, and railway safety authorities.
  • Define, implement and oversee RAMS processes in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements and international standards including EN 50126, EN 50129, EN 50716 and IEC 61508.
  • Develop and maintain project safety documentation, including RAMS plans, system safety cases, hazard logs and safety assurance reports.
  • Coordinate hazard identification, mitigation, verification and close-out activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support system integration testing, trial running, RAMS demonstrations and safety approvals required for operational acceptance.

Your qualifications and skills to create a better tomorrow

  • Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Railway Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience delivering RAMS and system safety activities within complex railway, transportation or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of RAMS methodologies, safety assurance processes and relevant international railway standards, particularly EN 50126.
  • Proven experience preparing system safety cases and managing safety-related hardware and software assurance activities.
  • Experience leading technical teams and coordinating multidisciplinary stakeholders across complex project environments.
  • Demonstrated experience working with independent assessment bodies and railway safety authorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in multicultural project teams.
  • Fluent written and verbal English.
