PEOPLE & CULTURE OFFICER

Location: Port Vila, Vanuatu

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented People & Culture Officer to drive effective recruitment, maintain accurate HR information systems (HRIS), and support a positive employee experience. This is an exciting opportunity to help attract, onboard, and support the people who make our mission possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes, including advertising, screening, interview coordination, reference checks, onboarding, and induction.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and information within the Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
  • Monitor staff movements, contract renewals, probation reviews, leave balances, and personnel files.
  • Support payroll verification and ensure HR-related documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Provide advice and support to managers and staff on People & Culture policies, procedures, performance management, and employee relations matters.
  • Assist with staff wellbeing, engagement, spiritual nurture, and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with World Vision policies, safeguarding requirements, and Vanuatu labour legislation.

Key Requirements

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Human Resources, recruitment, administration, or a related role.
  • Experience in recruitment coordination, HR records management, and HRIS administration.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and HR systems skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of Vanuatu labour legislation and HR best practices is desirable.
  • Experience in the NGO or development sector is an advantage.
