Project Manager / Senior Project Manager - Infrastructure

WSP is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager / Senior Project Manager - Infrastructure to support the delivery of major infrastructure and masterplan development projects across the UAE. This role will be responsible for leading multidisciplinary project teams, managing client relationships, and overseeing the successful delivery of projects in line with scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical engineering background, preferably in Civil Engineering, together with proven experience working for leading international engineering consultancies on large-scale infrastructure and masterplan development projects within the UAE. The role requires an experienced project leader with excellent stakeholder management skills, commercial awareness, and a strong track record of delivering complex multidisciplinary infrastructure programmes.

As part of the Transport & Infrastructure business, the Project Manager / Senior Project Manager will play a key role in delivering some of the region's most significant infrastructure and land development projects while supporting business growth and maintaining the highest standards of project delivery excellence.

Project Management & Delivery

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of large-scale infrastructure and masterplan development projects.
  • Manage multidisciplinary design and project delivery teams across all project phases.
  • Develop project execution plans, schedules, resource forecasts, and delivery strategies.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Coordinate with technical teams to ensure efficient and integrated project delivery.

Client Relationship & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Manage communications with government authorities, developers, contractors, and project partners.
  • Lead project meetings, progress reviews, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Support Project Directors in managing executive-level client interactions and project governance requirements.

Commercial & Financial Management

  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, resource utilisation, and commercial performance.
  • Support contract administration, change management, and commercial reporting activities.
  • Manage project risks and ensure mitigation measures are implemented.
  • Contribute to profitability targets through effective project planning and resource management.
  • Assist in managing project variations, claims, and contractual obligations.

Technical Leadership & Coordination

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight on infrastructure and masterplan development projects.
  • Ensure engineering solutions are aligned with client requirements, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design inputs and project deliverables.
  • Support technical reviews and quality assurance processes.
  • Promote innovation, value engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with project management processes, company procedures, and governance frameworks.

  • Support project risk identification, management, and reporting activities.

  • Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and technical excellence.

  • Participate in project audits, reviews, and lessons learned activities.

  • Ensure contractual and regulatory requirements are met throughout project delivery.

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

  • Minimum 12-15+ years of experience within engineering consultancy, infrastructure project delivery, or major development programmes.

  • Proven experience working with leading international engineering consultancies.

  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale infrastructure masterplan and land development projects in the UAE.

  • Strong technical engineering background, preferably in civil infrastructure projects.

  • Proven client-facing experience and ability to manage relationships with government entities, developers, and key stakeholders.

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and coordinating complex project deliverables.

  • Strong understanding of project management principles, project controls, commercial management, and risk management.

  • Experience administering consultancy contracts and managing project budgets, schedules, and resources.

  • Strong communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

  • PMP certification, Chartered Engineer status, or equivalent professional accreditation is desirable.
