Your Role:
Are you ready to dive into the heart of finance and technology? As our Accountant, you'll be at the forefront of our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance every step of the way. We are all about collaboration here, so team up with our internal squads, analyze financial data and freely apply your strong analytical skills. A keen attention to detail and profound understanding of accounting standards are integral to this role.
Your responsibilities:
Month-end and Year-end Closing:
● Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities with precision.
● Record journal entries and accruals accurately and in a timely manner.
● Prepare balance sheet accounts reconciliations.
● Identify and investigate any unusual or significant fluctuations in account balances and take appropriate actions to resolve them.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams for transaction recording and reconciliation.
● Reconcile sub-ledgers with the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness
● Ensure proper classification of financial transactions and reconcile sub-ledgers.
● Maintaining the chart of accounts
Financial Control and Compliance:
● Document accounting policies and procedures for transparency and consistency.
● Implement and uphold robust financial control procedures.
● Monitor transactions to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
● Identify and address control weaknesses, driving corrective actions.
ERP Systems & Automation:
● Identify opportunities for process automation to streamline operations.
● Collaborate with teams to identify and address process inefficiencies.
Personal Development:
● Take charge of your personal and professional growth.
● Set and review personal development goals aligned with career objectives.
● Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in financial accounting and
control.
Your expertise:
● 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial control, or related fields.
● ACCA, CA or equivalent certificate.
● Experience in fintech, technology, or financial services sectors.
● Proficiency in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
● Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (IFRS).
● Strong skills in reconciliation and Chart of Accounts maintenance.
● Knowledge of Oracle NetSuite software is a big plus.
● Experience in developing and implementing financial control processes and procedures.
● Experience with Islamic Finance and shariah-compliant products is desirable.
● Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a strive for automation.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy.
