Regional Fleet Manager, MEU Fleet Management

We are looking for a Fleet Operations Manager who is responsible for the safety, compliance, availability, and customer sentiment of the Fleet in Austria.

To be successful in this role, this person will need to execute the business strategy and understand where to Invent and simplify solutions for the best outcome. This person will implement use of best practices and play a key role within the larger fleet organization across Europe.

Key job responsibilities

  • Ensure vehicles within the region are roadworthy and compliant with local regulations and Amazon Standards by performing audits and collating regional feedback through partnership with Fleet Compliance and Product teams.

  • The Fleet Operations Manager will execute existing fleet initiatives and new product launches and will support and engage with delivery partners by building mechanisms to help manage their fleet.

  • Influence and collaborate with multiple stakeholders, internal and external, in order to solve complex operational needs. The role requires the ability to manage escalations and influence stakeholders.

  • Manage vehicle operational readiness and cosmetic standards across the region, through collecting and analyzing data from different fleet management sources to secure customer experience.

  • This role will be based in one of our delivery stations or offices, and requires ability to travel 30-40% of time across the assigned region.

Occasional travel across Europe will be required.

About the team
Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, handles ‘last mile’ delivery duties in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. We utilise creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products into the hands of our customers. Our goal is to make our customers’ delivery experience as smooth as possible and roll out global delivery solutions for our newest concepts, like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now and Amazon Restaurants.

There are two sides to what we do. Our ‘under the roof’ associates process millions of products for dispatch to our delivery teams. Our team is people-focused and supportive, particularly as lots of our people work through the night. We focus mostly on operations, with 24/7 shifts in most of our locations.

Every year, we continually raise the bar for customer experience with new, innovative delivery services. We look for new ways to overcome industry wide logistics challenges and new ideas to reduce our carbon footprint, supported by a portfolio of light-commercial vehicles (including Electric Vehicles) and technology to help us do just that.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in engineering, project management, operations, logistics, supply chain or related field
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in German
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in English
  • Experience leading and interacting with cross-functional teams
  • Experience in logistics
  • Experience in operations management
  • Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and partnering well with people at all levels within an organization
  • Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree or MBA preferred.
  • Fleet Management experience.
  • Background in mobility services e.g. Car Lease/ Automotive company.

For this position, the minimum gross base salary is listed below. The base salary listed corresponds to working on a full time basis. For part-time hours, the salary will be pro-rated.

The gross salary includes the respective minimum salary for this position in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Depending on the candidate's skills, competencies, and experience, Amazon may offer a gross salary higher than the minimum gross salary determined by the collective bargaining agreement. There may be further pay components such as a sign-on payment. In addition, the candidate may be eligible to participate in a restricted stock unit award operated independently by Amazon.com Inc. in the US.
