Head Chef

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Head Chef to join us and lead a Team; be creative with produce and get to work within a beautiful 5 Star health and leisure facility.

About the Role

As our Head Chef we will be looking for you to share your knowledge and experience, and to lead an engaged team to deliver an experience of the highest standards. You will hold line accountability for all aspects of Food and Beverage operations that will include leadership of a dedicated team of back of house staff, driving excellence in service and product while maintaining financial viability.

You will lead by example and manage your Team to ensure that the Food and Beverage Department operates within its agreed budgets, and that food hygiene and health and safety compliance is maintained.

This role is part of the Club Leadership Team and reports into the General Manager.

We do operate 7-days a week so experience in workforce planning is essential to ensure that hours of operation are covered and that Team Members are supported to be the best they can be.

About You

You should have a positive attitude, be enthusiastic and be prepared to be hands on and to get stuck in with the Team. You will ideally have previous experience of working in a professional kitchen and be someone who thrives under pressure. We would also be open to speaking with someone who is looking for a step into a Head Chef opportunity.

What will help you be successful is having:

  • Demonstrated success in a similar role including demonstrated success in the financial management of a F&B department
  • Wine and other beverage knowledge
  • Experience with rosters
  • The ability to professionally interact with members
  • Café and barista knowledge
  • Completed commercial cookery course or apprenticeship in cookery
  • Solid experience in all facets of café, restaurant and banquet food preparation and service
  • A history of people management
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol
