The role

Symal Group has entered a Joint Venture partnership with the intent to deliver a major utility-scale Solar Farm and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Victoria.

We're seeking an experienced Commercial Manager, with a proven delivery side track record on renewable energy projects, to play a critical leadership role in the successful delivery of this nationally significant project.

You’ll lead Commercial and Procurement workstreams, overseeing your commercial and procurement teams, engaging with subcontractors, OEMs and key stakeholders.

You'll be responsible for ensuring for developing, negotiating and supporting contractual and commercial outcomes both upstream and downstream and playing a key role in supporting the operational success of the project.

This is a unique opportunity to work on a project of major significance, helping shape delivery strategies and contributing to one of Australia's largest renewable energy developments.

Your everyday

• Lead the procurement of all project packages across solar, BESS, civil, electrical and high-voltage infrastructure works.
• Manage, monitor, report on project budgets, forecasting, procurement activities, subcontractor and supplier commercial outcomes.
• Oversee commercial and procurement teams.
• Manage and monitor claims of all types, both upstream and downstream.
• Responsible for Contractual management upstream and ensuring your teams diligently manage all downstream contract management

Who are you?

• Demonstrated Contractor side delivery experience on utility-scale renewables projects is held in high regard. Wider infrastructure experience may also be considered.
• Understanding and experience with electrical infrastructure, transmission or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of EPC project delivery, commercial management, procurement and contract administration.
• Experience managing large teams, negotiating major subcontracts and supply agreements with international OEMs.
• Proven track record delivering projects safely, on programme and within budget.
• Excellent financial acumen, financial management and reporting skills
