About the program

The F-35 Lightning II will deliver the most advanced capabilities and will transition the RAAF into a next-generation net-centric fighter force that can assure the nation's territorial integrity and national security.

Key Responsibilities

Located in Tindal, NT, the F-35 Field - Simulator Technician performs a variety of technical maintenance, system administrative and support activities on a wide range of products such as information technology equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software on Maintenance and Pilot Training Devices. Activities include analyse and evaluate products and related performance, troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time, install, operate, maintain, repair and modify equipment. Maintains effective customer communications and relations.

What you will bring

Experience in simulator, aviation, defence, IT or a related technical environment.
Strong troubleshooting, fault-finding and problem-solving skills across electro-mechanical and IT systems.
Experience with systems administration, networks, user accounts and/or Information Assurance.
Strong communication skills and the ability to provide effective technical support to a range of users and stakeholders.
A strong commitment to safety, quality, security, attention to detail and working within approved procedures and authorisations.
Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.

Desirable

Tertiary qualifications (Diploma or above) in a relevant discipline (electronics, electrical, mechanical engineering, IT systems administration etc.) from a recognised institution, and/or equivalent relevant experience (preferably within the defence industry)
