Siemens are looking for a highly experienced Head of Engineering to lead the technical direction and engineering excellence of our Data Centre business across Australia. Sitting within Siemens' Electrification & Automation business, you'll own the integrity of integrated power solutions spanning Power Train Units (PTUs), Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) switchgear, and Busway systems — ensuring these systems are engineered, integrated and delivered to the standards mission-critical infrastructure demands. This is not a single-product specialist role — it's a leadership position for someone who can see across the full system and take ownership of how it all comes together. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Leading and growing a multidisciplinary engineering team, building capability across MV, LV, PTU, and Busway design disciplines to support Australia's rapidly growing data centre pipeline

• Acting as the technical authority for integrated power solutions, with particular focus on protection, control & automation (PC&A) — including relay protection schemes, interlocking, and SCADA/EPMS integration

• Reviewing, supervising, and formally approving engineering design documentation — single line diagrams, protection studies, relay setting reports, and general arrangement drawings — under Registered Engineer authority

• Leading development of productised, standardised, and scalable design solutions for data centre applications to reduce engineering lead time and improve delivery consistency

• Engaging directly with consulting engineers and design houses to influence and support specification of Siemens equipment and solutions ahead of tender

• Partnering with tendering, delivery, and solution architecture teams to embed engineering expertise across every stage of the project and bid lifecycle • Championing a zero-harm safety culture and ensuring full compliance with Siemens and Australian regulatory standards, including AS/NZS 61439, AS/NZS 3000 and relevant IEC standards

You'll have proven experience in engineering leadership within the data centre, utilities, or mission-critical infrastructure sector, with deep technical grounding in MV/LV electrical systems, PTUs, switchgear, protection, and control. You hold Registered Engineer status (CPEng/NER or equivalent state registration), enabling you to take formal design authority and sign-off responsibility. You're experienced translating complex system integration requirements into clear engineering direction, and you understand how to balance rigorous technical governance with the pace of a fast-growing business. A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required.

You take ownership of engineering quality and integration risk across every phase of the project lifecycle, and you thrive on solving problems that sit at the boundary between disciplines rather than within a single one. You bring teams together, mentor emerging engineers, and communicate technical concepts with confidence to commercial, delivery, and customer audiences alike. You hold yourself to uncompromising standards in safety, design integrity, and engineering excellence.

A strong network across the Australian data centre ecosystem — including consulting engineers, design houses, hyperscale providers, and Tier 1 contractors — will be a significant advantage in this role.
