Overview
The primary role of the Health & Safety Program Manager (HSPM) is to ensure that the resort is compliant with all Alberta Occupational Health & Safety legislation. The HSPM will be responsible for implementation, execution and maintenance of the Resort’s Health & Safety Program.
Responsibilities
Implement, execute and maintain the Resort’s Health & Safety Program
Leadership and supervision of the Health & Safety Committee to ensure they are effective and meeting established objectives.
Provide support to all departments at River Cree to ensure they are in compliance with all legislative requirements.
Act as the first point of contact for all OH & S regulations and best practices.
Continuously evaluate the safety program, tools available, the effectiveness of meetings, associate education and training programs, processes and make recommendations for improvement.
Create a culture of open communication, collaboration and risk management.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in an Occupational Health & Safety discipline
- CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) certification is required
- At least five (5) years as a Health & Safety Program Manager in an organization of 700 plus associates preferably in a hospitality environment
- Extensive knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health & Safety Legislation
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent leadership, management, relationship building and communication skills.
The incumbent will normally work standard weekday hours but as a Manager, is expected to be available for evening or weekend meetings, or travel, if required.
