Senior Project Officer/ Project Officer (at the rank of Clerk I/ II) for Digital Strategy and Social Media in the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 537347) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a good university degree with at least 2 years' experience in communications, journalism and/or public relations, at a public/quasi-public organization. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality content in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in managing digital and social media platforms, along with familiarity with current and emerging digital technologies, is essential. A strong command of written English and Chinese is required. Experience in photography and managing Chinese Mainland social media platforms would be advantageous. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Project Officer.

The appointee will join the Knowledge Exchange & Faculty Advancement Team (Social Media & Digital Strategy Sub-team), a dedicated group of professionals responsible for developing HKUMed’s digital and social media strategies. The role involves daily management and optimization of selected platforms, with a primary focus on Instagram —which is designed to be student-centered—, and supporting the Assistant Manager in managing Weibo and WeChat. The appointee will work collaboratively with students, faculty staff, agencies, and designers, video producers to curate engaging content. Additional responsibilities may include other duties assigned in support of the Faculty’s mission, core values, and objectives, including but not limited to:

  1. multimedia production;
  2. special projects and campaigns;
  3. social media performance reporting; and
  4. event support.
