As a Functional Safety Engineer, you will help ensure the next generation of hypercars meets the highest standards of functional safety and regulatory compliance. Working across the Vehicle Technology and Engineering teams, you will define, document and safeguard functional safety requirements, ensuring every vehicle domain satisfies type-approval and regulatory obligations.

Where you’ll make an impact
- Report on methodology and process, keeping the Program informed of technical status across the function.
- Align the operational team to program deliverables and timing.
- Troubleshoot functional safety issues within the function, both pre- and post-SOP.
- Comply with company and HR policies and processes.
- Mentor junior employees.
- Identify the best solutions to ensure compliance with all regulatory and type-approval requirements.
- Own the definition of all documentation for Functional Safety.
- Identify and anticipate major regulatory changes, informing the Head and Managers to safeguard compliance with those requirements.
- Support on vehicle and other facilities if needed.
What are your core components
- Previous experience in a similar role within an automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier, preferably within premier Motorsports categories or within a low volume Supercar/Hypercar production.
- Demonstrated technical background in Electronics, Systems, EE or Software, with a focus on Functional Safety.
- Working knowledge of ISO 26262 and automotive regulatory / type-approval processes.
- Excellent team player and communicator, able to work with and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Ability to organise multiple technical inputs and present clearly to the Program and function Head.
- Strong problem-solving skills and close attention to detail.
- Able to manage a varied workload to tight deadlines.
Nice to have ones
- Previous experience leading a relevant project or workstream.
- Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Systems Engineering or a related field.
- Familiarity with functional safety analysis methods such as FMEA, FTA or HARA.
- Experience engaging directly with regulatory or type-approval bodies.
- At least 2 years' experience in the automotive or motorsport industry, ideally with both an OEM and a Tier 1 supplier, having completed at least one full program cycle.
- Fluent in English, with the ability to keep sight of the bigger picture while managing multiple priorities.

Salary range: €37 500 – €62 500 gross per year (depending on experience)
