NGIS Janitor

Amentum is seeking an NGIS Janitor to support a unique US Navy program on the island of
Diego Garcia. The NGIS Janitor will perform daily cleaning, sanitation, and housekeeping
tasks across NGIS lodging facilities, ensuring compliance with Navy lodging standards.

Job Responsibilities
· Clean guest rooms, common areas, restrooms, hallways, oƯices, and storage
spaces to maintain a safe, sanitary, and professional environment.
· Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces, fi xtures, and high-touch areas.
· Remove trash, replace liners, and ensure proper disposal of waste in accordance
with environmental and facility guidelines.
· Restock supplies such as toiletries, linens, cleaning materials, and guest amenities.
· Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or facility defi ciencies to supervisors
promptly.
· Assist with laundry operations, including washing, drying, folding, and distributing
linens.
· Support setup, staging, and cleanup for inspections, guest turnover, and special
facility requirements.
· Maintain cleanliness and readiness of janitorial equipment, tools, and storage
areas.
· Follow all safety, environmental, and quality standards required for NGIS
operations.Communicate progress, issues, and safety concerns to supervisors and
Navy leadership as required.
· Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and
level of the position.

Required Qualifications:

· 1-3 years of experience in janitorial services, housekeeping, facility cleaning, or
related maintenance environments.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
· Passport must be valid for at least one year beyond hire date.
· Ability to obtain country-specifi c visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign
Clearance Guide.
· Ability to meet and maintain contract medical requirements for the duration of
assignment.
· Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
· Employees must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can
perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency
procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:
· Previous experience supporting Navy lodging programs, NGIS operations, or military
hospitality environments.
· Familiarity with Navy lodging standards, sanitation requirements, and facility
cleaning procedures.
· Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to follow technical and
administrative instructions.
· Experience working in remote, shipboard, industrial, or lodging environments.
· Valid driver’s license.

Working Environment
This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote
overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in oƯice,
industrial, warehouse, port, airfi eld, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to
high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work
schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on
operational requirements.
Physical Requirements
Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up
to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and
outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment
requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
