Qualitative Account Manager
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
About the Job
As a Qualitative Account Manager, you will help some of East Africa's leading organisations make confident decisions through a deeper understanding of people, brands, and culture. You will lead the delivery of qualitative research programmes, turning complex consumer perspectives into clear recommendations that support growth, innovation, and customer experience.
You will manage client relationships, guide projects from proposal through to delivery, and contribute to the development of existing accounts. Working closely with colleagues across the business, you will coach junior researchers, maintain high quality standards, and help build long-term client partnerships through insight-led consulting and excellent project delivery.
Job Goals
- Build trusted client relationships through a deep understanding of client objectives, sector dynamics, and business challenges.
- Lead qualitative research projects from design through to debrief, ensuring delivery to agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Design robust research approaches, discussion guides, and frameworks that answer complex business questions.
- Translate consumer understanding into actionable recommendations that influence brand, innovation, customer experience, and marketing decisions.
- Identify opportunities to grow client accounts through additional research programmes and broader Kantar solutions.
- Coach and support junior researchers through feedback, collaboration, and on-the-job development.
- Contribute to proposals, pitches, and thought leadership that strengthen Kantar's position in the market.
Ideal Skills & Capabilities
- Expertise across a range of qualitative methodologies, including focus groups, in-depth interviews, ethnography, online communities, diaries, immersions, and co-creation.
- Strong moderation and facilitation capability across both in-person and online environments.
- Ability to synthesise multiple sources of information into clear insight narratives and commercial recommendations.
- Experience managing multiple projects, client priorities, budgets, and delivery schedules simultaneously.
- Ability to build lasting client relationships while identifying opportunities for account growth and expanded engagement.
