Project

KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for a Lead Construction Engineer – Civil/Structural (Marine) to monitor the execution of the project by the EPC Contractor assigned by the client (KNPC) in Kuwait.

The project assigned to contractor is to design and build an Oil Pier New Arm Facility in Kuwait. It consists of approach trestle, loading platform, control tower building, O&M building, packaged substation, loading arm & control system, access platforms, mooring dolphins, and breasting dolphins.

The Lead Construction Engineer – Civil/Structural (Marine) will be assigned in KNPC Kuwait site office during the construction stage. Prior to this assignment, he will be assigned in KBR Kuwait office during the on-going engineering stage with the main responsibility to review EPC Contractor’s deliverables from the perspective of construction methodology.

Summary Section

  • The Lead Construction Engineer – Civil/Structural (Marine) will be assigned for 12 months (with possible extension) to this project.
  • Will work from KBR Kuwait office during the on-going engineering stage.
  • Will be assigned in KNPC Kuwait site office and merged into KNPC’s PMC team during the construction stage.

Qualifications including Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor of Civil/Structural/Marine/Ocean/Naval/Offshore Engineering.
  • Minimum 12 years’ total post-graduation industrial work experience.
  • Minimum 8 years’ post-graduation work experience in refinery/petrochemical.
  • Minimum 3 years’ post-graduation work experience in leading engineering/project management consultants.
  • Relevant marine construction work experience such as jetty/pier, berth, approach trestle, loading arm, mooring dolphins, etc. Also has experience in construction related deliverables review.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and monitor the construction activities performed by the EPC Contractor at site.
  • Participate in reporting and resolving relevant construction issues with the client and EPC Contractor as needed.
  • Monitor and coordinate with the EPC Contractor as necessary to achieve quality requirements and timely construction progress as per Company's standards.
  • Review relevant deliverables originated by the EPC Contractor from the perspective of construction methodology.
  • Attend meetings and workshops as requested by the client.
  • Report to KNPC and KBR Project Management, also coordinate with relevant personnel in KNPC Kuwait, KBR Kuwait, and KBR Australia as needed.
  • Support KBR Lead Planning/Scheduling (Project Control) on preparation of reports, timesheets, activity logs, etc.
