School of Arts and Sciences Profile

The School of Arts and Sciences at the American International University in Kuwait comprises disciplines in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Physics, Mathematics, English Literature, Humanities, and Education.

The school offers a broad interdisciplinary foundation in the natural sciences, mathematics, humanities, and education, equipping students with critical thinking, analytical, communication, and research skills essential for academic and professional success.

Position Overview:
The Full Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor of Professional Ethics is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in professional ethics, fostering critical thinking and ethical decision-making, and contributing to the academic development of the program. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong teaching experience, subject-matter expertise, and a commitment to student learning and academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging undergraduate courses in Professional Ethics and related subjects.
• Develop, update, and revise course syllabi, learning materials, and assessments.
• Incorporate contemporary ethical issues, case studies, and real-world professional scenarios into teaching.
• Apply interactive and student-centered teaching methodologies to promote critical thinking and ethical reasoning.
• Integrate relevant professional standards, ethical frameworks, and codes of conduct into course content.

Required Qualifications

• PhD in English, Literature, or Philosophy
• Experience in teaching ethics, or similar humanities courses
• University teaching experience in degree level programs
• Familiarity with Kuwait educational context
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
