Head of MEP
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the overall MEP engineering function, providing technical direction and ensuring effective delivery of MEP activities across projects.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee MEP design and project execution, including installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems.
- Review and approve MEP designs, drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project and engineering requirements.
- Coordinate MEP activities with civil, structural, architectural, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration and timely project delivery.
- Lead and develop the MEP engineering team, ensuring effective resource allocation, performance management, technical development, and succession planning.
- Manage MEP project cost, quality, resources, and timelines, including review of budgets, variations, technical changes, and opportunities for cost optimization.
- Manage consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring technical, contractual, quality, and performance requirements are met.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, statutory requirements, health and safety regulations, and organizational policies across all MEP activities.
- Lead the resolution of complex technical and operational issues and identify opportunities for value engineering, energy efficiency, system reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide management and stakeholders with technical advice and performance reports on MEP projects, including progress, risks, costs, resource requirements, and key technical matters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in MEP engineering, building services, construction, or project engineering.
- Strong experience in MEP design, project execution, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Experience in managing consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Willingness to travel and work at different project locations as required.
