Purpose
The ICRC is looking for an Operator to be based in its Yangon office. The Operations Room operator maintains contacts with ICRC vehicles and staff while outside the office, ensuring a clear monitoring of all field movements in accordance with ICRC procedures and security rules. She/He also organizes the rapid sharing of all relevant related information to the concerned ICRC staff.
Accountabilities & functional responsibilities
- Follows and monitors all ICRC professional and field movements and assures that ICRC SOPs are followed.
- Conducts regular contacts with the concerned ICRC staff/sites per ICRC SOPs, pro-actively following-up in case of breach of contact procedures.
- Reports any anomalies timely and adequately to their direct line manager.
- Registers and ensures the update of all contacts in Database.
- Maintains station logs of messages transmitted and received for operations.
- Conducts periodic equipment inspections and routine tests in order to ensure that operations standards are met.
- Monitors effective functioning of the Operation Room, SOPs, contributes and provides feedback for any development.
- Ensures that all relevant information is systematically passed to the concerned ICRC staff for their security and safety.

Certifications / Education required
- University degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years’ work experience as an Operator or similar field of activity.
- Good knowledge of Myanmar geography and local terrain.
- Willingness to work on shift basis.
- Very good knowledge in computer and basic skills in telecommunication troubleshooting.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Must have an excellent Microsoft skill.
- Previous ICRC experience is an asset.
