The ideal candidate is a results-driven SME Banking Relationship Manager with a strong ability to build and grow client portfolios, identify business opportunities, and deliver tailored banking solutions that meet the unique needs of small and medium-sized enterprises. They possess excellent relationship management, sales, and financial analysis skills, with a deep understanding of clients’ businesses and financial requirements. The candidate is proactive, client-centric, and collaborative, able to work effectively with specialists to provide value-added solutions while ensuring compliance with risk, credit, and regulatory standards. They demonstrate strong commercial acumen, a commitment to service excellence, and a continuous improvement mindset, contributing positively to business growth, team success, and organisational objectives.

Job Responsibilities
- To acquire and deliver banking solutions to the SME segment; by providing great client experiences and understanding client business needs.
- Deliver on all targeted products and services as measured through the relevant client management systems and the contribution statement.
- Improve client service through delivering relevant products and services according to client needs.
- Maintain and build a portfolio of SME clients.
- Unearth client sales / solution opportunities and execute on these opportunities.
- Undertake thorough needs analysis across all clients spheres of financial influence and ensure clients are entrenched into Nedbank.
- Respond within agreed timelines to tasks and responsibilities deployed onto the relevant systems.
- Build and maintain effective professional relationships with high value profile clients through contact management.
- Deliver banking solutions that meet client needs.
- Understand client's business needs.
- Proactively engage clients in a manner that is relevant to their specific circumstances.
- Collaborate with specialists in client engagements to cross sell and create value-based solutions.
- Ensure work is completed to agreed principles, process and procedures; progress reviewed, and corrective action taken where necessary.
Job Responsibilities Continue
- Comply with risk standards, policies and procedures through training and development as required by group compliance framework.
- Facilitate client’s compliance correctness in line with Nedbank internal and regulatory standards. Identify and resolve any work-related obstacles and problems and escalate to senior management.
- Contribute to the improvement of policies, procedures, standards and processes by applying own experience and insights where applicable.
- Understand the bank's risk and credit policy and manage client expectations accordingly.
- Comply with internal standard procedures to facilitate the execution of client requirements.
- Support the achievement of the business strategy, objectives and values by reviewing Nedbank and Business Unit Plan and ensuring delivered systems, process, services and solutions are aligned.
- Identify training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from management.
- Ensure all personal development plan activities are completed within specified timeframe.
- Share knowledge and industry trends with team and stakeholders during formal and informal interaction.
- Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g., staff surveys etc.).
- Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy.
- Seek opportunities to improve business processes and systems by identifying and recommending effective ways to operate and adding value to Nedbank.
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Preferred Qualification
- Degree in Business / Finance / Marketing (e.g. Bachelor of Commerce; Certified Associate of the Institute of Bankers)
- FAIS full Qualification
Minimum Experience Level
- Minimum five years experience in a banking organisation
- Two years experience as a relationship banker
- One year experience in leadership/supervisory.
