Responsibilities

  1. Consumer Insights and Product Research
  • Design and conduct regular product research in key European markets.
  • Develop and manage European research programs.
  • Lead ad-hoc and ongoing Voice of the Consumer (VOC) research.
  • Integrate consumer feedback into actionable recommendations for product planning, configuration optimization, pricing adjustments, and marketing communications.
  • Collaborate with external research institutions and internal data teams to ensure robust, representative, and reliable insights across diverse cultural and demographic groups.
  1. Market Segmentation and Competitive Intelligence
  • Gain in-depth understanding of the European automotive market segments, including market size, growth trends, customer demographics, purchasing behavior, and channel dynamics in key countries.
  • Systematically monitor competitors, tracking key competitors' product portfolios, pricing strategies, configuration structures, incentive programs, residual value, and marketing strategies.
  • Create country-specific competitive landscape analysis charts and market segment heatmaps to inform pricing, market positioning, and feature prioritization.
  • Maintain the competitive intelligence dashboard and regularly report market share changes and competitor new product launch plans to senior management and country teams.
  1. European SKU Definition and Configuration Management
  • Define and maintain country-specific SKU portfolios for all new, facelifted, and annually updated models, ensuring clarity and consistency across the European market.
  • Collaborate with headquarters' product planning, certification, and local regulatory teams to determine configuration combinations, option packages, and accessory combinations that align with local customer preferences, legal requirements, and the competitive landscape.
  • Create and maintain a centralized European configuration matrix.
  1. Pricing, Sales Planning, and Business Strategy
  • Develop competitive pricing strategies for each European country, considering local market positioning, exchange rates, taxes, competitor pricing, and consumer willingness to pay obtained from clinical research.
  • Collaborate with sales planning and finance teams to develop sales forecasts by model, configuration, and market segment, based on regional business objectives.
  • Closely monitor industry-wide price trends, incentive programs, and residual value trends, and provide actionable recommendations to optimize our business strategy.
  • Provide pricing toolkits and business guidelines to national teams to ensure standardized and consistent implementation.
  1. Product Positioning, Target Audience, and Communication
  • Define the product positioning for each model.
  • Develop customer profiles and key selling points (USPs), and translate them into value propositions that resonate locally while maintaining global brand consistency.
  • Create and update information frameworks, competitor comparison matrices, and objection handling guidelines for the marketing, public relations, and sales teams.
  • Responsible for writing the European product characteristics manual.

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For Essential Experience & Skills (Mandatory)

  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience in product marketing, go‑to‑market (GTM), or commercial strategy roles.
  • Mandatory automotive OEM experience – you must have worked within a passenger‑vehicle manufacturer (OEM) in product marketing and GTM capacities, with proven exposure to vehicle lifecycle management, launch execution, and cross‑market commercial planning.
  • Proven track record of leading full‑cycle GTM strategies for multiple vehicle launches at an automotive OEM, including SKU definition, pricing, configuration, and market positioning across diverse markets.
  • Deep hands‑on experience in consumer insights and product clinics – designing and executing customer research to validate product and pricing decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of European automotive segments, competitor landscapes, and country‑specific market dynamics (e.g., Germany, France, UK, Nordics, Benelux, Southern Europe) – with at least 3–5 years of direct exposure to European markets.
  • Exceptional internal alignment and stakeholder management – proven ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams in a complex matrix organisation, bridging HQ, regional, and country levels to drive consensus and execution.
  • Outstanding documentation and content governance skills – ability to structure, maintain, and govern large volumes of product information with precision and clarity.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset, with a hands‑on, results‑driven approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (additional European languages are a strong plus). Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in EVs, premium automotive, or new‑energy vehicle (NEV) brands.
  • Familiarity with pricing models, homologation processes, fleet/leasing requirements, and European automotive data systems (e.g., JATO, Dataforce).
  • Prior experience working in or with Chinese automotive OEMs or fast‑growing technology‑driven automotive companies is an advantage.
