We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our team in Porsgrunn.
As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for understanding customer instrumentation requirements, developing technical solutions and proposals, and supporting projects from FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) through execution and final delivery. You will act as the primary technical contact within assigned projects, working closely with customers, sales teams, project managers, and engineering colleagues to ensure successful project outcomes while maximizing customer value and business growth.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Lead the technical execution of assigned projects, taking ownership of engineering deliverables, technical decisions, and customer requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Partner with customers, sales teams, project managers, and internal stakeholders to develop compliant, high-quality instrumentation solutions that meet project objectives, schedules, and contractual requirements.
- Prepare and support technical proposals, including instrument selection and sizing, review of customer specifications and P&IDs, and development of engineering documentation.
- Identify opportunities to optimize project scope, profitability, and customer value while supporting the execution of instrumentation and automation projects across Emerson’s portfolio.
- Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with Emerson's trade compliance, ethical business, quality, and project management standards while promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration across local and global teams.
- Apply Project Management project methodology and standards to all projects, attend customer/plant meetings when required
- Support the Project Manager and implementation team in managing all contractual obligations throughout the complete project cycle, interface with all key stakeholders, building business partnerships with personnel in the customer project team
- Attend internal project execution meetings to ensure customer requirements are disseminated and clearly understood by all supporting groups, ensure relevant project technical knowledge is transferred to all internal partners, locally and globally, to successfully deliver the overall project to the customer

For This Role, You Will Need:
- An Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification.
- Experience in process automation, instrumentation, control systems, or related industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation technologies and the ability to interpret P&IDs, customer specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Experience working directly with customers, managing technical discussions, and delivering solutions within project-based environments.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, combined with a commitment to safety, ethics, and quality.
- English Proficiency, Norwegian is desired as well.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Experience with field instrumentation and process control environments.
- Knowledge of Emerson or similar instrumentation solutions and the wider process automation industry.
- Experience supporting projects from FEED through commissioning and final delivery.
- Familiarity with project execution methodologies and customer-facing engineering roles within process industries.
- Familiarity with ERP systems
- Norwegian proficiency
