Ko tōu ake mahi - What you’ll do
This is an exciting opportunity to lead work that makes a tangible difference to health outcomes across Polynesia. Working in a complex and rewarding environment, you'll provide strategic leadership across programmes and workstreams, influence key decisions, build strong regional partnerships, and help drive high-quality delivery through effective procurement, contract management, and stakeholder engagement. You’ll provide technical advice and improve processes to facilitate effective programme delivery. You'll also play a key role in developing team capability and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Lead the development and delivery of complex projects and programmes, providing strategic advice, planning, monitoring, and reporting to ensure successful outcomes.
- Champion best practice by mentoring and coaching, building capability within the team, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Provide procurement and contract management leadership, ensuring compliance with government procurement rules, internal process and , effective risk management.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government agencies and Pacific partners, to achieve shared outcomes.
- Analyse complex information and develop high-quality advice, translating technical issues into clear, actionable recommendations and communications for a range of audiences.
Ko ngā pūkenga ōu - What you’ll bring
- Proven experience leading complex projects, programmes, or initiatives, ideally within international development, with strong procurement, contract management, and risk management expertise.
- Sound understanding of Pacific health and development issues, particularly within Polynesian countries, and the ability to work effectively with Pasifika communities and diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to develop options, provide advice, and translate complex information into clear insights and recommendations.
- Excellent communication, relationship management, and influencing skills, with a track record of collaborating across organisations to achieve positive outcomes.
- Strong organisational and leadership capability, including mentoring others, driving continuous improvement, establishing effective processes, and delivering high-quality work in a complex environment.
