People & Culture Manager
- Mons Royale
- Wanaka, New Zealand
- NZD 90,000 – NZD 120,000
At Mons Royale, we believe action and adventure sports can be a force for good but most of the gear made for these sports is trashing the planet. That's why we're on a mission to shift riders from synthetics to natural fibres designing high-performance merino apparel that doesn't mess up the places we love to play.
We're looking for a People & Culture Manager to join the mission and our growing team in Wānaka. In this newly created role, you'll lead day-to-day people practices at Mons Royale, partnering with leaders across the business to build a strong team and a strong culture as we continue to grow globally.
The role spans recruitment, people operations, culture, employee relations and compliance across our office and retail teams. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys the full breadth of people work - from finding and welcoming great people, to coaching managers, to building the processes and culture that help a global team perform at their best.
What you'll do
Partner with hiring managers to recruit great people, running an effective process and a candidate experience that reflects who we are
Build our employer brand and talent pipeline in our target geographies, and support the SLT with workforce planning and talent strategy
Manage global mobility, including immigration, visas and relocation support
Own and keep elevating our onboarding framework so new starters are set up to succeed
Lead the annual performance and salary review processes, including salary benchmarking and supporting the SLT with remuneration decisions
Support managers to have useful performance and development conversations, and foster a culture of continuous growth
Bring our values to life by embedding them in core people processes and leading culture and engagement activities, regular engagement surveys and response plans
Continuously simplify and improve people processes and tools so they scale as we grow
Report on key people metrics - giving leaders visibility and insight
Support payroll processes across our geographies, working with Finance to make sure everyone is paid accurately and on time
Provide practical, compliant advice and coaching on day-to-day people matters, and run formal people processes with care and sound judgement
Keep our people policies up to date, well communicated and compliant across all our geographies
Requirements

Experience across multiple international markets, or the appetite to learn the employment landscape beyond NZ
Hands-on recruitment experience and a genuine enjoyment of finding and connecting with great people

A process improvement mindset - you build people practices that are impactful, efficient and scale as the business grows
Highly organised with strong follow through
A clear communicator, with strong verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable working with people systems and data, using metrics to show what's working and what's not
Curious about technology and AI tools that make people work smarter
