Introduction:
The division of Clinical labs and Outreach Health Services at The Aga Khan University Hospital is a dynamic service centre which serves the diagnostic needs of the country through its clinical laboratory services that spreads across Pakistan. AKUH’s Clinical Laboratory is College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited and caters to the need of the entire country through its tertiary lab at the main campus and 300+ specimen collection units and 13 stat labs across Pakistan.

Job Summary:
The incumbent will serve as a key resource within the Director’s Office, providing operational, analytical, project management, and coordination support across Clinical Laboratories, Outreach Health Services, and Medical Centers. The incumbent will facilitate communication and follow-up with internal stakeholders, support business and financial analysis, coordinate projects, assist in report preparation, monitor action plans, and ensure effective liaison with AKUH central departments and outreach network facilities.
The role requires strong analytical, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills to support the effective execution of departmental priorities and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities:
Business & Financial Analysis:
- Conduct business analysis to identify operational efficiencies, service expansion opportunities, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Monitor KPIs, productivity, volumes, revenue, and expenditure trends.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
Project Coordination & Management:
- Coordinate projects within the Director’s portfolio and track timelines, progress, and deliverables.
- Follow up with project owners to ensure timely completion of assigned actions.
- Coordinate project meetings, document minutes, and track action items.
Medical Center & Outreach Coordination:
- Act as a focal point for communication and coordination with Medical Centers and Outreach facilities.
- Monitor operational issues and coordinate with relevant departments for timely resolution.
- Support the implementation of new initiatives, policies, and service enhancements.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Liaise with AKUH central and support departments, including Finance, Human Resources, Procurement, IT, Facilities, Quality, Marketing, and Clinical Services.
- Facilitate cross-functional coordination to ensure smooth execution of business priorities.
Reporting & Performance Monitoring:
- Prepare and support executive summaries, business reports, presentations, briefing papers, and strategic updates.
- Compile and analyze information from multiple sources to support decision-making.
- Maintain project documentation, operational trackers, and departmental records.
- Monitor implementation of decisions and follow up on pending actions and deliverables.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
- Ensure timely communication of operational updates, reports, and directives.
- Facilitate effective communication between Outreach regions, Clinical Laboratories, Medical Centers, and AKUH central departments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Healthcare Management, Finance, Economics, Public Health, Health Systems Management, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, MPH, or equivalent) will be preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in healthcare operations, project coordination, business analysis, consulting, or healthcare administration. Experience in hospitals, laboratories, outreach healthcare, or healthcare service organizations will be preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, stakeholder coordination, data analysis, reporting, and performance monitoring.
- Strong understanding of business and financial analysis, project coordination, data analytics, and performance reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with excellent follow-up and coordination abilities.
- Proactive and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
