Responsibilities:

Reporting to the PM or Technical Manager, Project and Construction Management, you will be responsible for managing and supervising mechanical works for outreach construction projects from design review through commissioning and project close-out, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, project schedules, and EHS requirements.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  1. Studying Design Package, verify BOQ as per drawings and highlight any discrepancy.
  2. Reviewing/working on tender package complete in all respect including BOQ, drawings, specs.
  3. Leading supervision of Mechanical works and ensure that quality of work conformance with the design drawings, specifications, BOQ and applicable standards/codes.
  4. Reviewing and approving Technical Proposals of Equipment as per Compliance sheets and specs.
  5. Checking contractor's shop drawings/design drawings and report any discrepancy noted to the concerned specialty/Sr. Engineer/Manager.
  6. Proactively coordinating with other trades on daily basis to avoid any coordination problem that may arise during execution of work at site.
  7. Measuring quantities of work executed by the contractor at site and verifying contractor's bills.
  8. Preparing purchase requisition for all OFM, inspect the OFM and other materials delivered at site and prepare Technical Inspection Reports (TIR).
  9. Preparing punch list on completion of the work and ensure that all punch list items are attended by the contractor before issue of completion certificate.
  10. Overseeing and witnessing testing and commissioning OFM equipment and develop/verify as built drawings and closeout documents.
  11. Monitoring Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) compliance of all Construction activities as per procedure and policies of AKU
  12. Any other task/ assignment given by management

Requirements:

You should have:

  • B.E - Mechanical Engineering
  • 3-6 Years related experience
  • Construction experience in Hospital setup / high-rise building will be advantage with complete understanding of Mechanical and Plumbing systems.
  • Good market knowledge of construction and related items and local consultants/contractors
  • Good Analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Good communication & problem solving
  • Quality assurance and control
  • Proficiency in related computer software packages (MS office, AutoCAD)
  • Track record of EHS protocol compliance
